What it’s about. Paris 1942. Philippe und Jean müssen ihre Liebesbeziehung vor ihrer Familie und den Nazis verstecken. Philippe arbeitet für die Resistance, Jean führt das Familiengeschäft, eine Reinigung. Als Jeans erste Liebe, die Jüdin Sara auftaucht, deren Eltern von den Nazis ermordet worden sind, nehmen die beiden sie auf und geben ihr eine neue Identität und familiäre Sicherheit. Jeans Bruder aber liebt Sara, will sie haben. Er kollaboriert mit den Nazis, lässt seinen Bruder festnehmen, um ihm seine Macht zu zeigen. Im Laufe der Verhaftung jedoch wird Jean beschuldigt, eine Affäre mit einem Nazi-Offizier zu haben. Man schickt ihn in ein KZ nach Deutschland ... das Unheil nimmt seinen Lauf.
