Released in 2015, Krampus is a komödie, fantasy and horror film directed by Michael Dougherty, running about 98 minutes. “You don't want to be on his list.” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Für Max sind die Weihnachtsfeiertage wenig erfreulich: Die gesamte Verwandtschaft entert das Haus, alle streiten sich, und zu essen gibt es den unsäglichen Weihnachtsbraten seiner Mutter. Wie das Fest der Liebe fühlen sich diese unangenehmen Stunden für Max nicht an. Doch dann fällt der Strom aus und in der Dunkelheit lauert noch etwas viel Schrecklicheres als die lieben Verwandten: der Krampus. Er wird angelockt durch die mangelnde Festtagsstimmung in Max‘ Elternhaus und kommt nun, um alle Ungläubigen zu bestrafen. Im Schlepptau hat er die Horrorversionen sonst so friedlicher Weihnachtsikonen. Max und seine Familie müssen nun zusammenhalten, um die grausige Sagengestalt zu vertreiben, bevor die Monster-Variante des Weihnachtsmanns jemanden fressen kann…

How it landed. With an audience score of 6.2/10, Krampus has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $61.8M at the box office.
