What it’s about. Peter Keller lebt schon sehr lange in Berlin und bekommt eines Tages Post von Otto Balsiger. Beide kommen aus Emmental und beim Militär war Keller früher der Vorgesetzte von Balsiger gewesen. Dieser wohnt wieder im Emmental und bittet Keller um Hilfe, da er erneut der Vergewaltigung und des Mordes beschuldigt wird, nach dem er schon einmal eine Strafe wegen gleicher Taten in einem anderen Fall abgesessen hat. Keller reist ins idyllische Emmental und erkennt schnell, dass hinter dieser paradiesischen Idylle Neid und Missgunst regieren und Balsiger nur ein perfekter Sündenbock ist.
