What it’s about. Einige Jahre nach der Kreuzigung von Jesus von Nazareth schickt Kaiser Tiberius den Abgesandten Tauro nach Palästina, um den Leichnam zu finden und damit das aufrührerische Volk vom Auferstehungsglauben abzubringen. Auf seiner Suche nach Zeugen gerät Tauro immer stärker ins Wanken, ist fasziniert vom christlichen Glauben und dessen Herausforderungen. Als Tauro schließlich selber für den Heiland gehalten wird, sieht der römische Statthalter Pontius Pilatus ihn als Sicherheitsrisiko an und lässt ihn töten.
