What it’s about. Der schwer erkrankte Max, der an einem unheilbaren Gehirntumor leidet, beschließt sich das Leben zu nehmen. Kurze Zeit später erhält er einen überraschenden Anruf seiner früheren Kundin Alice, die er als Versicherungsmakler betreut hat. Sie möchte den Tod ihres Mannes Arthur aufdecken, um endlich seine Lebensversicherung in Anspruch nehmen zu können. Bei seiner Recherche stößt Max auf einen Imagefilm des Hotels Aurora, mit dem Arthur anscheinend Kontakt hatte. Ein Hotel, das geplante und betreute Suizide anbietet. Einmal dort eingecheckt, gibt es kein Zurück mehr. Max nimmt schließlich aus eigenem Interesse Kontakt auf – unter der Vorgabe die Spuren Arthurs zu verfolgen. Im abgelegenen Hotel angekommen begibt sich Max auf eine existentielle Reise auf der Suche nach Wahrheit und die Unausweichlichkeit des Todes …
