What it’s about. Dave Garver arbeitet als DJ bei einem kleinen Radiosender in der Stadt Carmel. Er lernt Evelyn Draper kennen, die ihn bewundert, und besucht sie in ihrer Wohnung. Sie offenbart ihm, dass sie jene Anruferin ist, die ihn jede Nacht um das Abspielen des Songs Misty bittet. Dave und Evelyn verbindet für eine kurze Zeit eine sexuelle Beziehung, die von Dave beendet wird. Dave wird in der nächsten Zeit immer mehr von Evelyn belästigt. Er findet heraus, dass sie unter falschem Namen das Appartement seiner Freundin Tobie Williams mitbewohnt.
