Der erfolgreiche Selbsthilfe-Therapeut Thomas Carter wird während einer Büchersignierstunde vom geistig angeschlagenen Angel Sanchez gebeten, ihn in Einzeltherapie zu nehmen, um den frühzeitigen Tod seiner Mutter verarbeiten zu können.
