Im Laufe ihrer Nachforschungen finden die beiden heraus, dass schon immer Menschen von bösen Dämonen berichten, die sie im Schlaf heimgesucht haben. Sie stoßen auf weitere ungeklärte Todesfälle, die dem von Kates Schwester nahezu gleichen. Bis Kate selber auf einmal nachts aufwacht und sich nicht bewegen kann und realisiert, dass sie sich nun ebenfalls in einem zu Leben erwachten Albtraum befindet.
