What it’s about. Die irische Rockband U2 wurde 1976 in Dublin gegründet. Die "Joshua-Tree-Tour" war weltweit ausverkauft. - Der Dokumentarfilm begleitet die Band auf der "Joshua-Tree-Tour" und zeigt Interviews und zahlreiche Live-Aufnahmen. Ihr 1987 erschienenes Album "The Joshua Tree" gilt unter Musikkritikern als das beste Album der Band und als Meilenstein der Musikgeschichte. In Deutschland ist es unter den Top 50 der meistverkauften Alben aller Zeiten. Die zum Album veranstaltete Joshua-Tree-Tour war weltweit ausverkauft. Im Oktober 1988 kam der Dokumentarfilm "Rattle and Hum" in die amerikanischen, im November in die deutschen Kinos.
