What it’s about. Als ihre Großmutter stirbt, kehrt Anna zurück nach Norwegen, in ihr kleines Heimatdorf am Meer. Jahrelang hat sie sich nicht blicken lassen. Ihr verbitterter Großvater Johannes ist wenig begeistert, sie zu sehen und auch Annas zurückgelassener Freund Håvard scheint mehr als überrascht, dass sie wieder auftaucht. Johannes spricht kaum ein Wort. Der mürrische Alte schlägt selbst das Bestattungsunternehmen in die Flucht. Ein Glück, dass Håvard beim Sargbau einspringt, Annas Charme trägt Früchte. Doch ihre Rückkehr kratzt an alten Wunden, ein Unfall, der das Leben aller Beteiligten für immer verändert hat und das Miteinander nicht einfacher macht. Als Annas Verlobter Mathias überraschend aufkreuzt, muss sich Anna entscheiden, was ihr wirklich wichtig ist.
