What it’s about. Riley (Kristen Vaganos) kommt mit guten Nachrichten für ihre Mutter Monica (Libby Munra) und ihre kranke, jüngere Schwester Beth (Micavrie Amaia) zu Besuch nach Hause. Sie ist frisch verlobt mit Aiden, einem engagierten Krankenpfleger. Doch Monica ist mehr abweisend als herzlich, denn sie lebt mit Beth abseits des normalen Stadtlebens in ihrem Haus und versucht alle äußeren Einflüsse von ihr fernzuhalten. Angeblich, weil bei Beth das unheilbare Guillain-Barre-Syndrom diagnostiziert wurde, und jeglicher Kontakt mit der Außenwelt zu ihrem Tod führen könnte. Riley nimmt heimlich Kontakt zu Aiden in der Klinik auf und schildert ihm die Situation. Anhand der Symptome von Beth erkennt er schnell, dass Beth und nun auch Riley bewusst vergiftet werden. Mama tut - nach dem Unfalltod ihres Mannes - alles, um ihre Familie wieder komplett bei sich zu haben. Auch Mord ist da kein Hindernis mehr... es entwickelt sich ein wahrer Albtraum.
