What it’s about. Dekker, ein einflußreicher Rechtsradikaler, plant, die “Ordnung” in Südafrika mit Rassentrennung wiederherzustellen. Um seinen Plan umsetzen zu können, engagiert er einen ehemaligen Agenten des KGB. Als im Süden Schwedens ein Haus in die Luft fliegt und in den Trümmern die Finger eines Schwarzen gefunden werden, und kurz darauf eine Frau tot aufgefunden wird, macht Kommissar Wallander sich an die Arbeit. Er entdeckt die Zusammenhänge und kontaktiert einen Kollegen in Südafrika – scheinbar soll ein Attentat bei der Verleihung des Nobelpreises in Oslo stattfinden!
