Released in 2015, Focus is a komödie, drama, krimi and liebesfilm film directed by Glenn Ficarra, running about 105 minutes. “Traue niemals einem Dieb.” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Der erfahrene Schwindler Nicky verliebt sich in die attraktive Nachwuchs-Gaunerin Jess, eine Newcomerin auf dem Gebiet des Trickbetrugs. Sie kommen sich näher, doch genau das wird ihnen zum Verhängnis, denn das Tagesgeschäft als Gauner und Schwindler, bei dem alle lügen und für das liebe Geld betrügen, wo sie nur können, ist gefährlich. Ihre Beziehung ist zu intensiv und sie trennen sich abrupt. Drei Jahre später hat sich Jess zur gestandenen Gangster-Braut hochgearbeitet. Nicky trifft sie durch Zufall bei einem Autorennen im argentinischen Buenos Aires, wo er sich an einem äußerst gefährlichen Coup versuchen will. Die schöne und mittlerweile auch viel selbstbewusstere Nicky bringt ihn jedoch völlig aus dem Konzept. Noch ahnt der erfahrene Haudegen allerdings nicht, wie abgebrüht Jess inzwischen wirklich ist...

Who’s in it. Focus stars Will Smith as Nicky Spurgeon, Margot Robbie as Jess Barrett, Rodrigo Santoro as Garriga and Gerald McRaney as Owens, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 6.9/10, Focus has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $154M at the box office.
