What it’s about. Nach dem Angriff auf Pearl Harbor führt Captain Terrey einen Angriff gegen die Invasoren, wird aber zurückgeschlagen und nach seiner Rückkehr zum Schreibtischdienst verdammt. Dort erfährt er, dass sein Sohn ihn verachtet und sein Erster Offizier Eddington seine Frau in Pearl Harbor verloren hat. Während Terrey wieder zur See darf und sich behauptet, vergewaltigt Eddington die Freundin von Terreys Sohn. Eddington opfert sich nach deren Selbstmord und löst damit die erste große Seeschlacht des Zweiten Weltkriegs aus, in der Vater und Sohn Terrey Seite an Seite kämpfen.
