Addison Brandon wird von einem Dämonen verfolgt, so auch Buddy Hooks, ein weiterer Jugendlicher aus dem Ort. Immer mehr Menschen aus ihrer Umgebung werden scheinbar von dem Dämon geschnappt. Hilfe scheint ausgerechnet die alte, als verrückt geltende Frau Gaylen zu bieten. Sie verlor ihren Sohn vor 23 Jahren und glaubt nun zu wissen, wie man das Monster stoppen kann. Dabei könnte auch der alte Polizei-Veteran Davis Tubbs eine wichtige Hilfe sein. Er hat Erfahrung im Kampf mit dem Creeper und unterstützt Sheriff Tashtego …
