What it’s about. Hongkong 1949: In China tobt der Bürgerkrieg, die Stadt wimmelt von Flüchtlingen. Dem US-Reporter John Bell fällt in dem Chaos ein brisantes Papier in die Hände. Offenbar wollen Rebellen den Staudamm am Gelben Fluss sprengen. Auf dem Weg dorthin verliebt sich Bell in die tapfere Ärztin Dorothy Simmons.
