What it’s about. Sein knapper Sieg gegen die russische Kampfmaschine Ivan Drago hat Box-Weltmeister Rocky Balboa eine schwere Hirnschädigung gekostet, die ihn zum Rücktritt zwingt. Dabei lernt er den noch unerfahrenen Boxer Tommy Gunn kennen, für den er sich aus gewissen Sympathien bereit erklärt, Trainer zu sein. Als den beiden im Team dann erste Erfolge vergönnt sind, beginnt auch der geldgierige Promoter Duke, Interesse an dem Newcomer zu zeigen...
