What it’s about. Nach dreißig Jahren Ehe hinterlässt der Tod ihres Mannes tiefe Spuren in der einst so lebenslustigen Annabelle. Kurz entschlossen nimmt sie seine Asche mit auf eine letzte Reise, den Spuren seiner einstigen Lieblingsfilme folgend. Ausgerechnet „Braveheart“ bringt Annabelle als erstes in einen entlegenen Winkel von Schottland, wo der auf schroffe Art attraktive Howard den heruntergekommenen Familienbesitz Awd House in ein Bed & Breakfast verwandeln möchte. Das ist leichter gesagt als getan, denn Personalprobleme und allgemeiner Verfall stehen diesem Vorhaben entschieden im Weg. Also packt Annabelle tatkräftig mit an, auch wenn Howard in der hyperaktiven Amerikanerin eher die personifizierte Ruhestörung vermutet.
