What it’s about. Der britische Kriegsgefangene Brooks wird als Betreuer der Elefantenkuh Lucy im Münchner Tierpark abgestellt. Nach dem dieser von Alliierten Kampffliegern bombardiert wird, erhält er den Auftrag Lucy nach Innsbruck zu evakuieren. Dabei gerät er mit der SS in Konflikt und flieht über die Alpen. Was einst schon Hannibal konnte, das kann Brooks schon lange. Auf ihrer Flucht stoßen Brooks und Lucy des Öftern auf den Partisanen Packy, der in Österreich gegen die Deutschen kämpft.
