What it’s about. Nach seinem Tod bei einem Autounfall findet sich der wohlhabende Schuhfabrikant Carlo Bacchi im Jenseits wieder, wo er zur Hölle verdammt wird, weil er zu Lebzeiten Böses getan hat. In einem leidenschaftlichen Plädoyer wehrt er sich jedoch gegen diesen Vorwurf und erreicht, dass er für einige Stunden auf die Erde zurückkehren darf, um das begangene Unrecht wiedergutzumachen – allen voran jene böse Tat, die Amedeo Santini in den Selbstmordversuch getrieben hatte.
