What it’s about. Die Flucht einer Gruppe Häftlinge eines Konzentrationslagers gelingt dank der Unterstützung eines polnischen Arztes . In einem Waldversteck harren die Verfolgten unterschiedlicher Nationalität aus, immer in der Hoffnung, nicht entdeckt zu werden. Aber die Front rückt näher und die Lebensmittel werden knapp. Da erscheinen polnische Flüchtlinge und mit ihnen gibt es neue Vorräte. Als der Arzt der Gruppe zur weiteren Flucht verhelfen will und eine Brücke sprengt, durchkämt bald darauf die SS das Waldstück. Sie kommen den Versteckten immer näher. Der Arzt wird entdeckt und erschossen. Unmittelbar vor der Entdeckung der anderen wendet sich das Schicksal...
