What it’s about. Der Binnenschiffer Henner Classen (Heinrich George) und seine Familie helfen bei einem Landgang in Berlin dem jungen Jakob vor seinen betrunkenen Vater und nehmen ihn anschließend mit auf die nächste Schiffstour. Jakob (Wilfried Seyferth) erfährt zum erstenmal familiäre Geborgenheit. Das Idyll kommt jedoch in Gefahr, als Henner die junge Frau Gescha vor dem ertrinken rettet und diese ebenfalls an Bord aufnimmt, denn Henner scheint gefallen an der Frau zu finden und bemerkt nicht, das diese ihn nur ausnutzen will. Als Jakob daraufhin Gescha zur Rede stellt kommt es zu einem Unfall...
