What it’s about. Ein amerikanischer Fotograf wird in Brasilien in ein Komplott verwickelt, in dem eine Diskette eine entscheidende Rolle spielt. Nachdem eine befreundete Prostituierte ermordet und die Freundin bedroht wird, erlernt er die Technik des Messerkampfes, um gegen den unbekannten Herausforderer gefeit zu sein. Ein spannend entwickelter und inszenatorisch ambitionierter Film, der der Frage nachgeht, wie viel Druck auf einen Menschen ausgeübt werden muß, bis er zur Gewaltanwendung bereit ist. Der interessante Film leidet ausgerechnet unter dem Umstand, in der Hauptrolle mit dem Charakterdarsteller Peter Coyote besetzt zu sein, dem man die vielen Kampfszenen dann doch nicht so recht abnehmen will.
