Die Operette "Wiener Blut" ist eine klassische Verwechslungskomödie und spielt zur Zeit des Wiener Kongresses nach den Umwälzungen der Napoleonischen Kriege in der Zeit von 1814 bis 1815 . Graf Balduin von Zedlau, Botschafter des winzigen Hofstaates Reuss-Schleiz-Greiz, wird nach Wien versetzt. Graf Zedlau ist verheiratet, aber ein echter Don Juan, der immer nach einer neuen Liebschaft sucht.
