What it’s about. Die in der Bronx lebende Familie Rizzo hegt das ein oder andere Geheimnis voreinander. Auch Vince Rizzo, der als Gefängniswärter in City Island arbeitet, erfährt eines Tages von einer lebensverändernden Tatsache, die er seiner Familie vorerst verheimlichen möchte: Ein Insasse des Gefängnisses entpuppt sich als Vinces unehelicher Sohn. Das Bewährungsprogramm ausnutzend, lässt Vince seinen Sohn Tony Nardella als Haushaltshilfe im Haus seiner Familie arbeiten, ohne sich Tony gegenüber als Vater zu offenbaren. Das einstige Zusammenleben der Familie soll von nun an gehörig umgestülpt werden. Denn es bereitet den Rizzos immer größere Schwierigkeiten, die ganzen Geheimnisse und Heimlichkeiten voreinander zu verbergen. Vor allem Haushaltshilfe Tony erkennt, was mit den einzelnen Mitgliedern aus der Familie seines neuen Arbeitgebers los ist.
