What it’s about. Von seinem Chef betrogen, wird Spezialagent Al Simmons bei seinem letzten Einsatz umgebracht. Simmons landet direkt in der Hölle und muss vor dem Teufel Rechenschaft ablegen. Simmons hat nur einen Wunsch, er will seine Frau wiedersehen und geht aus diesem Grund einen folgenschweren Pakt mit dem Teufel ein. Er bekommt die Chance, als Spawn auf die Erde zurückzukehren und dafür stattet ihn der Teufel mit besonderen Fähigkeiten aus. Doch im Gegenzug soll Spawn die Heerscharen der Hölle bei einem Feldzug zur Welteroberung anführen. Doch Spawn weigert sich und hat es damit nicht nur mit seinem alten Chef, sondern auch mit dem Teufel zu tun.
