What it’s about. Als der Bergsteiger Alex Lowe 1999 am Berg Shishapangma unterwegs war, löste sich eine verhängnisvolle Lawine, die ihn mitnahm und unter sich vergrub. Sein bester Freund Conrad Anker war bei diesem Trip ebenfalls dabei, überlebte das Unglück allerdings. Er heiratete Alex' Witwe und unterstützte sie dabei, die Söhne großzuziehen. 17 Jahre nach dem Lawinenabgang wird die Leiche von Alex entdeckt und einer der verbliebenen Söhne, Max Lowe, der nun Fotograf, Filmemacher und National Geographic Explorer ist, richtet das Objektiv seiner Kamera auf seine eigene Familiengeschichte.
