What it’s about. Mo wächst in einem traditionellen, ägyptischen Haushalt auf, doch jenseits der Geborgenheit der familiären Wohnung befinden sich die Straßen des unruhigen Londoner Stadtteils Hackney, in denen sein großer Bruder Rashid als Kleinkrimineller sein Geld verdient. Mo vergöttert Rashid, doch dieser setzt alles in Bewegung, um Mo einen Collegeplatz zu finanzieren, damit er die Chance auf das ruhige, normale Leben bekommt, das er selbst nie hatte. Eine tragische Reihe von Ereignissen zwingt beide Brüder dazu, sich ihrer eigenen Lebensrealität und Identität zu stellen, die Rashid bisher zu unterdrücken versuchte.
