What it’s about. Für Gabriela Diaz aus San Francisco läuft es alles andere als rund: Sie verliert ihren Job in einem Designstudio und nimmt, von einer guten Flasche Wein beschwipst, an der Verlosung „Win an Inn“ teil. Doch dieses Mal ist das Glück ihr holt, sie gewinnt tatsächlich ein Anwesen in Neuseeland. Nach Tausenden von Flugmeilen kommt sie an der Bellbird Valley Farm an, die nun ihr gehört. Seine besten Zeiten hat das Grundstück jedoch bereits seit vielen Jahren hinter sich. Und so beschließt Gabriela, alles so schnell wie möglich auf Vordermann zu bringen und ihren neuen Besitz gewinnbringend zu verscherbeln. Dazu nimmt sie Kontakt zum Bauunternehmer und freiwilligen Feuerwehrmann Jake Taylor auf, der sich zunächst nur über ihre Großstadtallüren amüsiert. Doch im Laufe der Renovierung lernt sie nicht nur ihn, sondern auch die anderen Anwohner besser kennen und schon bald ist sich Gabriela gar nicht mehr so sicher, ob sie jemals nach San Francisco zurückkehren will…
