What it’s about. Aida, die Tochter des äthiopischen Königs, lebt als Sklavin am Hof des ägyptischen Pharaos und ist in den Feldherrn Radames verliebt. Der soll gegen die Äthiopier ins Feld ziehen, die gekommen sind, um Aida zu befreien. Nach dem Sieg des ägyptischen Heeres kehrt Radames mit den Gefangenen nach Theben zurück.
