Die zwei Freunde Tim und Eric bekommen von Hollywood-Produzent Tommy Schlaaang und dessen Filmproduktionsfirma Schlaaang Corp. eine Milliarde Dollar, um einen gewaltigen Film zu machen. Natürlich geht dabei alles schief, was man sich nur vorstellen kann und sie verpulvern jeden einzelnen Penny des vorgestreckten Geldes. Schlaaang Corp. ist selbstverständlich sauer. Tim und Eric sehen ihr Leben in Gefahr und müssen gezwungenermaßen jeden Penny an die finstere Schlaaang Corp. zurückzuzahlen und dem schönen Hollywood-Leben Adieu zu sagen. Die beiden Freunde entscheiden sich dann dazu, Unternehmer zu werden und in einem vor dem Konkurs stehenden Einkaufszentrum ihre Geschäfte zu machen.
