What it’s about. Die Teenagerin Hiyoko, welche von zu Hause weggelaufen ist, lebt in einer weit entfernten Zukunft, in der die Entwicklung der Zivilisation ein Ende hat. In einem Stadion, welches »Asylum« genannt wird, lebt sie mit anderen Teenagern zusammen in Zelten. Dort trifft sie auch auf Akira, den Kopf einer Bande bestehend aus Straßenkindern. Doch die Polizei hat das Ziel, das Stadion zu zerstören, woraufhin dessen Bewohner ein Event, mit dem Namen »The Asylum Session« veranstalten, um die Pläne der Polizei zu durchkreuzen.
