What it’s about. Die allein erziehende Kotoko (Cocco) leidet unter einer mysteriösen Krankheit: Sie sieht Menschen oft doppelt. Und weil sie nicht entscheiden kann, welche Version real ist, fühlt sie sich bedroht, werden die Personen in ihrer Vorstellung immer aggressiver. Sie ist deswegen gezwungen, immer wieder umzuziehen, was sie und ihr kleines Baby schwer belastet. Als das Kind fast nur noch schreit und Kotoko nicht mehr klar kommt, schreitet das Jugendamt ein und übergibt das Baby an Kotokos Schwester. Nun allein und einsam findet Kotoko Zuflucht in Selbstverstümmelung und dem Singen von Liedern. Genau dabei hört ihr der Schriftsteller Tanaka (Shinya Tsukamoto) zu, der sie fortan verfolgt. Er hat sich verliebt und tatsächlich entwickelt sich eine Beziehung. Kotokos Zustand verbessert sich. Doch ihre Nerven liegen noch immer blank
