What it’s about. Als der Nationalsozialismus auch Ungarn erreicht, emigriert die Jüdin Hanna Senesh nach Palästina. 1944 kehrt sie als Fallschirmspringerin im Dienst der Royal Air Force in ihr Heimatland zurück, um britischen Soldaten und den dort ansässigen 800.000 Juden zu helfen. Auf dem Bahnhof in Budapest wird sie entdeckt, verhaftet und gefoltert. Nach langen Qualen gibt sie ihren Namen preis und bewirkt damit die Verhaftung ihrer Mutter. Hanna wird des Hochverrats beschuldigt und ohne Urteilsverkündung erschossen, da ihre Peiniger den Zorn der nahenden Russen fürchten müssen.
