What it’s about. Der Indianerhäuptling Wanu erwählt auf seiner Frankreichreise ausgerechnet den Pariser Playboy und Herumtreiber Perrin zum Retter seines Volkes. Er beschwört ihn, im Amazonasgebiet nach seiner von bösen Mächten gestohlenen Seele zu suchen. Perrin hält herzlich wenig von Aberglauben und Hokuspokus, doch weil ihm seine Gläubiger im Nacken sitzen, lässt er sich überreden.
