What it’s about. Mag Singer (Susan Sarandon: "Der Klient") ist seit 25 Jahren verheiratet und Mutter von sieben Söhnen. Bis auf den 14jährigen Simon (Nick Stahl: "Der Mann ohne Gesicht") haben alle das Elternhaus verlassen und leben ihr eigenes Leben. Ihr mann Patrick (Sam Shepard: "Die Akte") geht in seinem Beruf auf und hat sich von ihr entfremdet. Eigentlich ist Mag ungebunden. Sie ist frei, um sich endlich ihre eigenen Wünsche zu erfüllen. Doch plötzlich verändert eine schreckliche Nachricht das Leben der Familie. Ihr Sohn Percival, der zur Marine gegangen ist, ist vielleicht einer der Toten des Bombenattentats im Mittleren Osten. Das ängstliche Warten auf Nachricht treibt jeden einzelnen in tiefste Verzweiflung. Doch gleichzeitig keimt immer wieder Hoffnung und ein schon verlorengeglaubtes Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl auf, daß sie immmer mehr ihre tiefempfundene Liebe füreinander spüren läßt...
