Der Film beginnt mit Draculas Anreise per Schiff, desen gesamte Besatzung einen grausigen Tod sterben muss, während im Sanatorium Renfield den Meister erwartet und Lucy bereits jetzt schon in wonnige Verzückung gerät und noch vor der fünften Filmminute vom sehr charismatischen Dracula gebissen wird.
