What it’s about. Die junge, aufstrebende TV-Produzentin Becky Fuller lebt nur für ihren Job – zu dumm nur, dass sie momentan arbeitslos ist. Da kommt das Angebot, die erfolglose Morgenshow “Daybreak” zu produzieren gerade recht. Becky geht guter Dinge ans Werk und holt als erste Maßnahme den legendären Nachrichtensprecher Mike Pomeroy mit ins Boot. Dieser betrachtet das Morgenfernsehnformat allerdings als weit unter seinem Niveau und lässt das auch alle Beteiligten spüren. Nicht zuletzt seine Co-Moderatorin Colleen Peck muss unter den Stallüren der männlichen Newsdiva leiden. Die Moderation der beiden droht in einen veritablen Kleinkrieg auszuarten. Bald steht nicht nur Beckys Karriere auf dem Spiel, sondern auch die frisch aufkeimende Liebe zu ihrem charmanten Produzentenpartner Adam Bennett.
