Released in 1976, Jack the Ripper is a thriller and drama film directed by Jesús Franco, running about 92 minutes. “Close your eyes and whisper his name...” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Eine Londoner Prostituierte macht sich alleine auf den Weg nach Hause. Sie ist allein in den Straßen unterwegs, was ihr gar nicht behagt. Auf ihrem Wege trifft sie auf einen alten blinden Bettler, den sie zuerst für eine Bedrohung hielt. Doch schon kurz danach wird sie das Opfer von Jack the Ripper, der sie tötet und den Leichnam mitnimmt. Der Bettler wird Zeuge des Überfalls, aber da er blind ist, lässt der Mörder ihn in Ruhe. Dennoch merkt er sich einige Details. Die Leiche wird in ein Gewächshaus gebracht, wo der Ripper sie zerstückelt und am nächsten Tag von der verwirrten Frieda entsorgen lässt, die die Leichen für Puppen hält.
