Er findet an Bord keinen anderen Menschen, dafür aber vier dicke Freunde, die das Unwetter überlebt haben; Den pfeiferauchenden Papagei mit der Schwäche für hochprozentigen Rum, den immermüden Bordhund und das ewig schmusende Katzenpärchen. Sofort machen sich die fünf Freunde daran, ein Floß zu bauen und die wichtigsten Nahrungsmittel zu der kleinen Insel zu bringen, die so still und einsam vor ihnen liegt.
