What it’s about. Nach Ryuzakis Tod ist nichts mehr, wie es war: Light ist der Polizei beigetreten und gibt sich als L aus, um weiterhin offiziell nach Kira fahnden zu können. Auf der anderen Seite mordet er mit Mikami als seinem Handlanger munter weiter. Auf diese Weise hat Light leichtes Spiel und seine ideale Welt mit ihm als Gott rückt immer näher. Über Ls Tod wurden jedoch noch zwei weitere Personen informiert - Mello und Near, beide herangezogen als potentielle Nachfolger für L. Near gründet das SPK, eine Spezialeinheit gegen Kira, und kommt bald auf dieselbe Lösung wie vor ihm schon L: Light muss Kira sein! Durch diesen Verdacht bekommt auch die Kira-Sonderkommission erneut Zweifel und so steht Light zum wiederholten Male unter Beobachtung seiner Mitarbeiter. Doch er wäre nicht bis hierher gekommen, wenn er sich davon unterkriegen lassen würde...
