What it’s about. Bei einem UNO-Treffen wird der chinesische Botschafter Wu ermordet. Die unfassbare Tat könnte zum Stolperstein für ein wichtiges Handelsabkommen mit China werden, zumal noch andere Gewalttaten für Missstimmung gesorgt haben. FBI-Agent Neil Shaw gerät zu Unrecht in Verdacht, der Mörder des Botschafters zu sein. Er befreit sich aus dem Gewahrsam, um auf eigene Faust nach den waren Hintermännern zu suchen. Bei seinen Ermittlungen stößt er auf eine Verschwörung, deren Ausmaße immer unübersichtlicher werden. Die Dolmetscherin Julia Fang (Marie Matiko) unterstützt ihn bei den Bemühungen, die Gefahren für die Sicherheit der Welt abzuwehren. Aber ihre Gegner wollen mit aller Macht verhindern, dass der perfide Plan zur Zerstörung der UNO aufgedeckt wird. Shaws und Fangs Leben ist in Gefahr.

How it landed. With an audience score of 5.7/10, The Art of War has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $30.2M at the box office.
