"Mischka" ist Stévenins dritte eigene Regiearbeit - nach "Passe Montagne" (1978) und "Double Messieurs" (1986): ein vielköpfiger, vielstimmiger Ensemblefilm voller verrückter Überraschungen, Zufälle und Improvisationen und ein Lieblingsprojekt, eine Herzensangelegenheit von Stévenin, die ihn mehr 10 Jahre seines Lebens begleitet hat.
