What it’s about. Ein Dealer wird auf grausame Weise in Oslo getötet. Karen Borg, eine Wirtschaftsanwältin, findet den entsetzlich zugerichteten Toten. Die Ermittlungen führen die Polizeikommissarin Hanne Wilhelmsen und der Polizei-Jurist Håkon Sand, der seit der gemeinsamen Studienzeit in Karen verliebt ist. Der Mörder ist schnell gefunden und will ausgerechnet Karen als Verteidigerin – doch hinter dem Mord steckt eine ganze Drogenmafia, deren Verzweigungen bis in die höchsten politischen Kreise reichen.
