What it’s about. Lyle ist intelligent, sportlich, sieht gut aus – und doch hat er ein gewaltiges Problem: Wenn er sich provoziert fühlt, explodiert er förmlich vor Wut. Auf dem Schulhof kommt es zum Äußersten, er prügelt einen Mitschüler krankenhausreif, bringt ihn fast um. An Stelle einer Strafverfolgung, wird Lyle in eine psychiatrische Klinik eingeliefert und dort in eine Gruppe von Jugendlichen unter Leitung von Dr. Monroe integriert. Lyle und die verschlossene Tracy verbindet bald mehr als nur Freundschaft, die beiden verlieben sich. Doch immer wieder bricht die Wut aus Lyle heraus. Er muss den Ursprung seiner Aggressivität finden, um sich vor sich selbst zu schützen.
