What it’s about. Jim Tanner (George Hamilton) arbeitet für ein Regierungsprojekt mit hoher Sicherheitsstufe, wo u.a. auch die übersinnlichen Potentiale wie Telepathie und Telekinese erforscht werden. Als eine Testreihe an Mitarbeitern plötzlich ergibt, daß ein Mitglied des Teams anscheinend unheimlich starke Kräfte besitzt, obwohl davon nichts bekannt ist, kommt es zu einer Reihe von Todesfällen unter den Testpersonen, zu denen auch Tanner zählt. Doch der Verdacht fällt auf Tanner, der alles tun muß, um die Identität dieses "Supermutanten" herauszufinden, ehe er für dessen Taten verhaftet wird. Sein Anhaltspunkt ist ein geheimnisvoller Mann namens Adam Hart. Gehetzt startet Tanner seine Nachforschungen, immer in Angst vor dem unsichtbaren Gegner...
