What it’s about. Ein großer Industriekonzern mit dem Namen Proxate soll von der UNO als eigener Staat anerkannt werden. Damit dies gelingt, muß die Firma Beweismaterial vernichten, mit dem man ihr illegale Geschäfte nachweisen könnte. Also wird der arbeitslose Kapitän Murdoch, der seine Zeit lieber in der Hafenbar als auf der Brücke verbringt, angeheuert. Zusammen mit einer zusammengewürfelten Crew soll er – so denkt er – Hilfsgüter nach Afrika transportieren, in Wirklichkeit hat er aber chemische Waffen an Bord, mit denen zusammen er und das Schiff samt Besatzung auf dem Meeresgrund versenkt werden sollen.
