What it’s about. Valerio Frediani (Alessandro Gassmann) hatte zuletzt kaum noch Kontakt zu seinem Sohn. Doch als dieser in Rom auf mysteriöse Weise zu Tode kommt, nimmt der Ex-Polizist auf eigene Faust die Ermittlungen auf. Zur Unterstützung versucht er seine Kontakte bei der Polizei zu reaktivieren. Doch an seinem einstigen Arbeitsplatz findet der ehemalige Ermittler zunächst nur Hauptkommissar Tom vor, der einen tiefen Groll gegen ihn hegt. Sein ehemaliger Kollege Luigi bringt die Untersuchungen des verzweifelten Vaters dann doch voran: Offenbar gibt es einen Zeugen, der sich damals zum tragischen Vorfall über den Polizei-Notruf gemeldet hat. Bei den Ermittlungen wird Valerio Frediani schließlich von seiner ehemalige Kollegin Sara (Maya Sansa) unterstützt.
