What it’s about. Die Kommissarin Lisa Armstrong (Morven Christie) ist alleinerziehende Mutter von zwei Kindern und arbeitet beim West Lancashire Police Departement. Sie ist zuständig für Gewalt und Verbrechen innerhalb von Familien. Als zwei Kinder spurlos verschwinden, wird sie auf den Fall angesetzt. Als Armstrong den Stiefvater der Vermissten kennenlernen soll, traut sie ihren Augen nicht. Sie hatte mit Sean (Jonas Armstrong) im Hof einer Kneipe einen One Night Stand. Es dauert nicht lange, bis die Polizisten merkt, dass die Kinder in genau dieser Nacht, in der sie mit Sean Sex hatte, verschwanden. Es ist also sicher, dass der Stiefvater mit dem Verschwinden nichts zu tun hat. Ein Alibi will sie ihm trotzdem nicht verschaffen, denn dann müsste sie sich von den Ermittlungen fernhalten...
