Die Serie erzählt die Geschichte einer Berliner Familie und ihren Umgang mit der bevorstehenden Katastrophe. Die allgemeine Ordnung ist weitgehend zusammengebrochen. Daneben gibt es keine behördlichen Rettungspläne, die einzige Informationsquelle ist das Fernsehen, wobei die dortige Informationsflut zwischen Hoffnung und Hysterie schwankt.
